Abraham, Isaac and Jacob each represents a vastly different season in our lives and this is reflected in their prayer lives. Abraham went early in the morning and stood before the Lord; Isaac went out in the afternoon to meditate; while Jacob encountered God in the night through a dream. Abraham initiated the quest for God, Isaac was a bridge of continuity, while with Jacob, God suddenly showed up to set him on course. Their lives show us what we should do in different seasons and teaches us how to pray and respond to the Lord.
