Abraham Lincoln, voted the greatest American president ever, ascribed all that he was to his mother. His famous words were, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” It was the same with George Washington, the first president of the United States. He said, “All that I am I owe to my mother; I attribute all my success in my life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.” Mothers play a role to shape history far larger than we sometimes prefer to acknowledge. It is true that behind every great man is a great woman, but it is also true that behind every great son or great daughter is an amazing mother.
