Philosophy of Cornerstone Worship Ministry

The primary focus of worship is the Lord God Almighty. We are commanded to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37). We are to have no other gods besides Him and we are not to make for ourselves any carved images or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above or the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth (Exodus 20:3-4).

There are various reasons for joining the worship ministry. Some join the ministry because of the love of singing, dancing, playing an instrument or just the love of being in the limelight, but the qualification for being in the worship ministry is our love for God!

Too often, we place the love of the ministry above the love of God. We tend to place our love to sing, dance and play an instrument above the main reason for worship. We tend to worship something else rather than the Lord.

In our ministry, we are careful not to place any other thing more important than our Lord Jesus Christ. In our structuring of the teams, our choice of songs, our attire and presentation, we constantly remind ourselves not to imitate any other. We want to be only what God would have the ministry be.

Everyone who is part of the ministry must know and determine in our hearts that Jesus is the One that must be promoted and lifted up; being ever so careful not to promote anyone or anything else. No matter how talented or anointed a person or even the whole ministry may be, it is only by the grace of God that we have received the enabling. Realizing that God is sovereign and all that we have come from Him and all that we are is because of Him; this keeps us from thinking highly of ourselves. We have determined in this ministry to make Jesus the main focus of everything that we do because worship is all about Him.
