Building a Legacy

In 2 Kings 6, the sons of the prophets came to Elisha with a request. They said, “See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small. Please, let us go to the Jordan… and let us make a place where we may dwell.”

The ‘sons of the prophets’ was a ministry headed by Elisha and they were so blessed that they outgrew the current facility they were in. This overcrowding was a direct result of God’s favour.

So, they went to the prophet and asked for permission to build a larger facility. The prophet’s response? GO. Please listen to the divine imperative. Whenever we find in Scripture that the blessings of God cause discomfort because of growth, you can be sure God has also prepared a place where there’s spaciousness and room for further expansion.

And the Lord undertakes this for us because overcrowding is not His good pleasure. How do I know this? Because Heaven is described in Scripture as being extravagantly spacious and when we pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven”, we get an understanding of what His will is.

We first bought our current facility at Odeon Katong 24 years ago and we’re now experiencing a chronic shortage of space. So in the last 3 years, we’ve been on a search for another campus and our search has come to a fruitful end. I’m pleased to announce that Cornerstone has purchased a new facility located in Sultan Plaza, along Jalan Sultan Road.

There are many ways you can come alongside to build with us. One of which is to give. The only time fund-raising was ever done in the Bible was when they were building the temple or repairing it.

I’m excited and honoured to invite you to get on board this project. Don’t be passive spectators, but active participators. Stand with us on this and let us make a place where we may dwell… but more so, let’s build a legacy for our future generations!
