An Incredible Week

Here’s something that you Cornerstonians might not know. Since our inception in 1995, there has only a year when we did not have a church camp and that was in 2008. That was the year when the world was reeling from a terrible recession and many families were trying to cope financially. So the leadership felt it wise to cancel the camp and instead help those families that were in need. But apart from that year, we’ve always had a church camp, every year since we started. It’s the highlight of our church calendar.

But nothing so far can beat the camp we had this year. I’ve had numerous people telling me that this was the best church camp ever in our 20 year history. I personally think it was too. It was certainly a high watermark for the church. But make no mistake about it, all the other camps were great as well but different, because the Lord always does a different thing in a different season. But church camp 2016 will be long remembered as an incredible gathering.

There are a few reasons. Firstly, the sessions were amazing. Speakers Ken Gott, John Andrews and Nicky Raiborde were just brilliant. They were just the right mix and they complemented each other perfectly. Each message was special and unique and built towards the next.

Next, the praise and worship led by our worship team – Caleb and Cath Woolridge was awesome. The Presence of God was thick and the atmosphere infused with divine life. And of course, the Gala Night was fantastic and hilarious as always. I must thank the planning committee for doing such an awesome job. Kudos to Pastor Peh Han and team!

I want to encourage and exhort all of you to make it a point to come for our annual church camp. To me, this is the highlight of our church calendar. It’s when the Cornerstone family comes together and it’s always special. All the other conferences are planned with the intention to bless others, but church camp is specially designed to bless the family here in Cornerstone. For this reason, I find myself hearing very clearly and specifically from our Heavenly Father when it comes to the church camp. I always feel like the Lord has a special word for us and I always get realigned to His purposes for my life at camp time. I believe we’re not far from a breakthrough. We’re going to see His manifested glory.

One of the prophetic promises we received at this camp is there are yet 7,000 who’ve been reserved for the church that will soon be brought into the fold. That just resonates with me and to the extent we can believe, God will match our faith. For this reason, I do not cease to pray that our sheep will bring forth thousands and in our fields, tens of thousands. This is Psalm 144. It’s coming and we must prepare for it.

We’ve now outgrown the facility for church camp as we’ve outgrown the facility we’re currently in. The place we have is too small for us. And to this, we sense the Lord saying, “Go. Arise and build.” Now, I don’t know what the future holds but this one thing I know – This is the season for enlargement.

Stand with me in faith and prayer and let’s believe for a mighty harvest to be brought in. This is the camp theme: “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54:2-3‬.

May it be so, Lord!
