The Evolution of a Dream09 February, 2018
Long before we had our first Kingdom Invasion Conference in 2012, my pastors and I had a dream. We’d sit and talk often for hours and dream of the day we could host something that would be a blessing to the churches in Asia. We talked often about the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and wondered how we could have our own evangelistic association one day where we could send out evangelists like them to proclaim the Gospel.
Not in our wildest imaginations could we’ve foreseen what God was going to do. Those dreams started to slowly materialise and in the early 2000’s, we had the privilege of hosting the Christ For All Nations’ (CfaN) “Fire Conferences” with the Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. What a privilege it was to work with one of my childhood heroes and to get to see him up close and personal.
Next, we had the privilege of organising and hosting what was the “Zion Convention”, from 2003 to 2008, with my mentor, Dr. Brian Bailey, as the speaker. Those days were like heaven on earth. We’d sit at the edge of our seats and listen to one of the greatest teachers of our century. But prior to our first Kingdom Invasion Conference in 2012, we had a series of healing meetings with Randy Clark and Tom Jones of Global Awakening.
I remember those days well. We saw some very powerful miracles, in addition to our people being trained to pray for the sick and the afflicted. Randy spoke to us one day and talked about expanding the scope of the meetings. He suggested we invite his good friend, Bill Johnson. We were excited about the proposal, invited Bill and he consented to come. So in 2012, we organised and launched our very first Kingdom Invasion Conference and we had, to our surprise, over 4,000 people register for the day sessions and in the evenings, we had an excess of over 7,000. We were encouraged by the response but what an incredible conference we had!
We had many breakthroughs. I recall that it was at that first conference where I had a powerful encounter with the Lord that led to us redeeming the Bible College of Wales in Swansea. But essentially, that first KI Conference gave us the confidence we needed to believe we could do something more at a larger scale.
This year’s Kingdom Invasion Conference is our 6th Conference (we skipped one year) and we’re truly excited about what God’s going to do. The conference has also evolved over the years. At our first conference, the focus was very much on healing and the supernatural. We saw many outstanding healings and this can be authenticated by the hundreds of emails and letters we’ve received over the years.
The healing and supernatural work of the Holy Spirit is the bedrock of what we do and we started to build upon that. Heidi came along and she added fuel to the fire. Then, with the inclusion of Lou Engle two years ago, we began to add the dimension of intercession and fasting into the mix. And then comes along Dr. Ed Silvoso, and he really helped crystallise some of the vision into transforming communities and cites.
In 2016, we expanded the vision even further when we held our first Kingdom Invasion Conference outside of Singapore in North-East Luzon, Philippines. Then in 2017, we expanded the scope of our reach to organise KI Islamabad, Pakistan, and KI Pretoria, South Africa. KI Mauritius is in the cards this year.
Over the past six years, we’ve seen the movement grow from strength to strength but what’s not changed is the dream we had way back then, to see the nations in Asia bow to the Lordship of Jesus. This is the Great Commission and this is our mandate and we must not be distracted from it. To this end, may Kingdom Invasion prepare an army of lovers of Jesus to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth!
