The Cornerstone Story
It was in 1989 that a small band of young pioneers and I sensed what we knew to be leadings from the Holy Spirit to bring forth a new congregation; a congregation that sought to honour God and become a dwelling place of the Lord. A year later in 1990, we started Bedok Christian Centre and came under the umbrella of the Anglican Church in Singapore. From the birth of the vision, it was evident that God had called us to love and know Him first of all, and then give ourselves to the end-time harvest, with the mind of raising, training and sending our labourers into the nations of the 10/40 Window.
On January 1, 1994, we changed our name to Cornerstone Community Church to better reflect the growing diversity and ministry of the congregation, and on June 2, 1995, to further facilitate the spiritual calling of the church, we became an independent Pentecostal church. And on July 16, 2000, we became officially affiliated with Zion Ministerial Fellowship Inc., a ministerial fellowship based in Waverly, New York.

Cornerstone Community Church
Cornerstone Community Church was, I believe, conceived in the heart of God. He joined together like-minded people with the right gifts at the right time in history, and a sort of spontaneous combustion occured. And in all these years of pastoring the church, I have lived under the shadow of that supernaturally-fueled combustion. And to live under its shadow has been, for me personally, both a source of wonderful joy and at times, intense agony. Nevertheless, I have had a privileged front row seat from which to witness the unbelievable pageant of God’s blessings. But what matters most is that I have come to know God so much more deeply now than I did in my earlier years.
While I know the Holy Spirit accomplishes His work in our lives through a complexity of means that we sometimes can’t understand, I earnestly believe that the ministry of Cornerstone Community Church has been one significant avenue of God’s work in my life and that of my family. I believe God wants to use this local Body of Christ to reach out to the lost and draw them into intimate relationship with Him. And I believe that for all imperfections, Cornerstone is being moulded by God to do just that. And why God has chosen to bless so abundantly remains a mystery to me.
We thank God for all the blessings He has so lavishly showered upon us and we look forward with great anticipation to what He is going to do in the future.
